The Child Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) provides low-cost health insurance for children from birth to 18 years of age. CHIP is designed for families with too much income to receive Medicaid but unable to purchase private health insurance. It provides medical care to eligible children. If your child is eligible, you need to choose a health plan and the doctor with whom you want to meet your child's health care needs.
