Noah Sow - Journalist • 1974: Born in the German state of Bavaria, where she also grew up • 1990 – 2007: Worked as TV and radio moderator, producer and editor; e. g. for SWF3, 1LIVE und hr3 (radio) and HR and WDR (regional TV) • 2003: Noah’s radio play “Underground” (Noah was responsible for script, production, and composing, and also gave her voice to one of the characters) was broadcast by WDR • 2008: On the TV program “Planet Schule” (“Planet School”) Noah accompanies young people through important transitions in life.   4. Noah Sow – Her Musik • 2007: Noah and her band Heimlich Maneuver release their album “Es brennthierdrin” (It’s Burning in Here) on Warner Bros. Music. (Watch a video of Noah and Heimlich Maneuver performing) • 2008: Noah and her new Afropunk band – Noiseaux – release their debut album, “Out Now” on their own label, Jeanne Dark Records (Watch Noah and Noiseaux perform unplugged on TIDE TV) • 2008 – 2009: Noah was also a member of the group “Sisters” that performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 and later toured both Germany and Senegal www.uncagedbirds.wordpress.com

Noah Sow – Her Activism • 2001: Noah is the chairperson of the media watch “Derbraune Mob e.V.” whose mission it is to ensure that public and media representation of people of African descent in Germany be fair and non-discriminatory. • 2008: Noah’s book “Deutschland Schwarz Weiss: DeralltäglicheRassismus” (“Germany Black White: Everyday Racism”) is published by Bertelsman and re-released by Goldmann (paperback & audio book) (Click here to hear Noah reading from her book) • 2008- : Noah is an in-demand speaker on “democratic discourse”, as well as “racism and the media”. www.uncagedbirds.wordpress.com
