  1. 10 Marathi Films Remade in Other Languages The Marathi film industry may not be as popular as Bollywood even though they come from the same state, but it doesn’t mean that there is a dearth of talent or exceptional movies. Some Marathi movies have remained popular over the years, so much so that remakes have been made of them in other languages. We will look at 10 such Marathi movie remakes in this article. - Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1989) This movie was remade as ‘Paying Guests’ in Hindi and was released in the year 2009. - Pheka Pheki (1989) Rohit Shetty remade this comedy for the second movie in the Golmaal franchise for the 2008 release ‘Golmaal Returns.’ - Bindhaast (1999): The 2006 Hindi movie ‘Bhagam Bhag’ remade the climax twist of this Marathi movie. - Dombivali Fast (2005) This movie was remade in Tamil in 2007 as ‘Evano Oruvan’. - Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai (2010) The Hindi remake of this movie was released in 2014 as ‘Mumbai Delhi Mumbai,’ directed by the same director Satish Rajwade. - Mala Aai Vhhaychy! (2011) This movie won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi and was remade as ‘Welcome Obama’ in Telugu in 2013. - Duniyadari (2013) The remake of this movie was done in 2013 as ‘Duniyadari’ in Gujarati and in 2017 as ‘Noorondu Nenapu’ in Kannada. - Timepass (2014) In 2015, this movie was remade in Telugu as ‘Andhra Pori’ and was directed by Raj Mudhiraj. - Lai Bhaari (2014) This blockbuster movie was remade as ‘Jaga Hatare Pagha’ in Odia in 2015. - Mitwaa (2015) This movie was remade in Bengali in 2017 as ‘Ami Je Ke Tomar.’
