  1. CCE WORKSHOP

  2. C - ContinuousC - ComprehensiveE - Evaluation

  3. Continuous stands for assessment of a student throughout the year, not just at the end of a term. It may be done formally or in an informal way using different techniques of evaluation .Comprehensive takes care of assessment of all round development of a child’s personality. A child will be assessed not only in terms of his knowledge about a subject but his participation in other activities also.

  4. Broadly, we assess a child’s growth in two areas – Scholastic and Co-scholastic.----------------------------------------------------------------The term Scholastic refers to those aspects , which are related to intellect or the brain. It is related to the assessment of learners in curricular subjects. It includes assignments, projects, practical etc. SCHOLASTIC

  5. The term Co-scholastic refers to those aspects which are related to hand and heart. CO-SCHOLASTIC • Eco club • Consumer club etc. CLUBS

  6. LIST OF ACTIVITIES AGAINST SKILL-AREAS

  7. How will the assessment be done ?Aschool session is divided into two terms:First term – April to September.Second term – October to March. Each term has two Formative Assessments (FA) and one Summative Assessment (SA).Syllabus covered in the first term will not be included in the second term.

  8. Weightage FA I – 10%FA 2 – 10%SA I – 20%FA 3 – 10%FA 4 – 10%SA 2 – 40% First Term (40%) Second Term (60%)

  9. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT (FA) Formative assessment includes all types of tests, formal and informal. Assessment can be done during the teaching process or after completing a unit. It includes : • Class work • Home work • Oral test • Group discussion • Quizzes • Worksheets • Assignment • Group activity • Experiments • Projects • Conversation/ Interview The record of FA will be maintained by the class teacher and subject teachers.

  10. IN OUR SCHOOL EACH FA INCLUDES: • Wednesday Test • Class Work • Home Work • Group Activity • Individual Activity • Class Work and HOME Work are again sub divided into three parts---Content, Presentation and Regularity.

  11. SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT (SA)This is the most traditional way of testing that is paper pen test, based on the curriculum taught during the specified time period. The question paper of SA will be based on the syllabus and the pattern set by the CBSE (IX-X).The centre of examination will be the child’s own school.Answer sheets will be checked by the school teachers.

  12. GRADING SYSTEMThe performance of a child in scholastic area will be assessed in terms of marks. Marks will be known to the student but his report card will show grades only. Marks will be converted into grades as per following pattern :

  13. GRADING SYSTEM FOR SCHOLASTIC AREA SCHOLASTIC-A SCHOLASTIC-B

  14. GRADING SYSTEM FOR CO-SCHOLASTIC AREAS LIFE SKILLS 2(A) ATTITUDES & VALUES 2(B) ACTIVITIES/SPORTS 3(A)/3(B)

  15. PROMOTION POLICY (IX-X) • In SCHOLASTIC AREAS 1(A), the qualifying Grade is D. • In SCHOLASTIC AREAS 1(B), the qualifying Grade is B. • If a student gets grade E1 or E2 in any subject then his co scholastic scores are taken into consideration. If a child still gets E1 or E2, he is given one chance of improvement failing which he will have to repeat the year.

  16. CCE CERTIFICATEAfter class X, a student will be awarded by a CCE Certificate. The certificate will be filled by the student and the school. The certificate will be signed by the student, principal and Board official. It carries student’s profile, class IX performance and class X performance in both the areas (scholastic and co-scholastic).

  17. POINTS TO REMEMBER • Students should keep the record of their achievements/participation in all the activities inside or outside the school in the school planner. • It is mandatory for every child to appear in both the summative exams. If for some valid reasons, one fails to appear in any summative exam, he will be given a re-test. After getting qualifying grades he/she will be promoted to the next class. • For latest information on School’s activities & your child’s performance, please log-on & check the school website regularly.

  18. Mentoring and Monitoring The CBSE is aware that mere orientation is not enough to help teachers grapple with the CCE Scheme. The training workshops are going to be followed up with mentoring and monitoring of schools through the Sahodaya network wherever possible. In case of other schools district wise Nodal centers will be set up to monitor and mentor the implementation of CCE. Each Nodal Center(School) will monitor 10 neighborhood schools.
