Assessment May Include: - failure to pass meconium stool ( imperforate anus) - stools in urine ( fistula) - ribbonlike stools (anal stenosis)Inspection of perineal area for abnormalitiesInsert lubricated rectal thermometer short distance(check protocol of agency). . Interventions- corrective surgery (anoplasty)- perform manual dilation as ordered- instruct parents in proper technique- prevent infection keeping anal area as clean as possible.
