InvestCloud’s Los Angeles Headquarters breaks the FinTech mold with their custom designed offices While it might seem odd to find a financial technology firm in a design center those of us at InvestCloud have always claimed to be a design firm. We create customized and highly designed digital experiences for our clients using flexible, patented technology so that the digital experience can continually be customized to fit our clients’ digital platform needs. So, in designing our offices we chose bright colors with orange accents, modern lines with classic white walls, and kept our start-up feel with exposed ceilings. The Pacific Design Center in the heart of West Hollywood quickly became the perfect place to house our growing global financial technology firm. The PDC demands your attention from much of the Hollywood, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills area. The Red, Green, and Blue buildings stick out from the surrounding buildings both because of their color and their height. The building was designed by Cesar Pelli in 1975 and has slowly grown to 1.2 million sqft of multi-use space. Inside each building, you can find lavish decorating firms, furniture shops, and other showrooms. With two top-tier restaurants by Wolfgang Puck and a screening room that often hosts movie openings as well as TV and movie tapings. We are lucky to have such a beautiful building to call home. Our offices were carefully designed by our executive team using the following principles. Engage your employees – By giving our employees a sense of ownership over the space we encouraged buy-in as well as promoted up-keep of our office for the future. We were able to get buy-in from our team by gathering notes on how to set up the kitchen, mostly based on feedback from our old kitchen. And to create a sense of pride and ownership employees were given the chance to build their own desks if they wished, this was a nice change of pace and even a team building exercise. Build features around employees’ needs and preferences – Our 14,000 sqft, open concept office fosters creativity and collaboration but as most people will tell you an open office is only so appealing. When it comes to productivity and privacy every office requires meeting rooms and calling rooms. The main nucleus of desks resembles a trading floor and is surrounded by multiple conference rooms in various sizes, a few private offices, and many individual calling rooms. Most of these spaces are not assigned to a single person or department, rather you can reserve some rooms while other rooms are first come first serve. Leverage Technology – And finally as a tech firm we are always looking for the latest technology to utilize in our board rooms and at our desks. Our favorite feature in the office is the technology in our main meeting room. With sensors all over the room, we are able to replicate the technology from the Tom Cruise movie Minority Report. With a swipe of a wand, we can have engaged sales meetings and product discussions. Learn more at www.investcloud.com.
