Our Kuali Experience • In 2008, selected Kuali Financial System and Kuali Coeus Research Management Systems • A Board mandate to update our aged FRS • Desired a system to manage our financial environment, not just recordfinancial transactions • Only truly integrated Finance and Research • Deployed KFS July 2009 • Deploying Kuali Coeus and integrated Rice now • Investing in Kuali HR system (KPME)

  11. Aug. 14, 6:53 AM - Jerry Neal from Indiana University writes with a basic explanation for the problem that CSU is experiencing, and asks about the use-case that caused the problem.

  12. 7:10 AM - Cathy Salino from Cornell University chimes in from her mobile phone with a related use-case from Cornell.

  13. 8:47 AM - Jonathan Keller from UC Davis uses his mobile phone to offer a diagnosis and possible short-term solution.

  14. 9:49 AM - Sterling George from Indiana University offers the solution that CSU eventually implements.

  15. 12:42 PM - Pat Lynn from Michigan State University explains that MSU has a similar use-case scenario to CSU and Cornell.

  16. 2:19 PM - Kymber Horn from The University of Arizona offers to create a Jira ticket to enhance KFS to make it easier to deal with batch check processing issues.

With Kuali, NO: • RFP (saved us 3-4 months) • License fees orMaintenance fees • Program manager on retainer (for us, anyway) • Contact him or her with an issue • PM identifies internal resource • PM schedules a call with the internal resource • We have a telephone call, “on the meter” at $200/hr. • Internal resource schedules a 5-day visit • We remove 60% of slides, and revise to a 2-day visit • We sometimes don’t get the help we need
