#1: Nylon Fibre - If you’re looking for something simple, soft and long-lasting– this is perfect for you! Sounds oddly too good to be true, right? This is very commonly found and used in car flooring fabric. #2: Polyester Fibre - If your carpet is colourful and vibrant or if you’re looking for an eye-catching statement carpet, it’s probably polyester fibre material. The con of this is that it get flat. Place it somewhere with low traffic and you’re good to go!
#3: Polypropylene Fibre - What…? Basically, is it looks like wool but isn’t, that’s polypropylene fibre. Stain-resistant however, once damp with spilled liquid, things get pretty nasty. Any oily food or liquids would get their oils stuck on the carpet which will cause even more dirt getting trapped on the fibres. #4: Wool Fibre - If you’re living like a royal and demand for luxury, this soft and supple option is your first choice! There are different grade of wool and the lower ones would be more susceptible to stains (cheaper ones are a mix of real and faux wool). The disadvantages of it, is just the price. There’s this other feature – you be the judge whether it is a vice or a virtue; it takes 1 pound of dirt for the wool to be visibly identified as dirty. If not, you wouldn’t even notice and assume that it is clean.
BEWARE: If you’re thinking of bleaching, you are going to literally, dissolve the fibres. Bleach is a big ‘no-no’.
