Metal Carports—the Benefits

Generally, this structure has a roof and is open-sided. It is used to store at least one car, van, trailer, etc. With a carport, you do not have to have a garage door or garage door opener. When using a carport, there is not much storage space as would be if you had a garage. Also, being open sided, there is not protection from the elements.

  1. However, there are many benefits of having a metal carport. When building a carport they can be made from vinyl, steel, wood, or aluminum.

  2. Benefits • Having a metal carport made of steel is not prone to termites, mold from water damage, and is fire resistant. • They are very easy to maintain and install and some are even portable. • They come in a variety of sizes so you can get them large enough for taller vehicles like a camper or even large enough for as many as three cars. • They are also affordable

  3. They are easy to install and most can be put together in one day. Most just require that you have a screwdriver and hammer but you should have two people to put it together. • A metal carport are generally designed very simply so they will look good when you place them near any type of outdoor source or home. • The metal can be pained to match the color of the siding on the house.

  4. They are easy to disassemble so if you are renting a home you can take them apart and relocate them to another home. Being portable means you can also move it if you do not like where you currently have it set up. • The frame and top are very lightweight but they are durable so they will protect the vehicle from storm or hail damage. • Although they are generally open on all sides there are some models that you can get that will have partial or full sides so you can protect what is inside from all of the elements of weather.

  5. If you do not have a Garagesor Metal Buildings to build one a Metal Carports or RV Carports may be the solution.
