Nationwide walking event that raises awareness and funds to fight arthritis … while supporting the Arthritis Foundation’s mission of improving lives through leadership in the prevention, control & cure of arthritis The event has a “team” focus, to encourage people to motivate and inspire each other

  9. What is Let’s Move Together? • Let’s Move Together is a nationwide movement led by the Arthritis Foundation that encourages people to move to prevent or treat arthritis. You can join the movement by committing to walk in your local 2009 Arthritis Walk. But don’t stop there…move daily for better health. Start moving today: visit www.letsmovetogether.org • Soft-launched in 2008, Let’s Move Together launches to the general public for the first time in 2009. • Participants join Let’s Move Together and participate in the Arthritis Walk to raise funds needed to find a cure for arthritis. • Let’s Move Together is more than a change in the look and logo of the Arthritis Walk. It is an overall re-thinking of how the Arthritis Foundation interacts with the public, expanding Arthritis Walk beyond a once-a-year event in local chapters. It is also a resource for people who want to move daily to prevent and treat arthritis – both for themselves and their loved ones.

Event Profile • In 2009, we anticipate over 275 event sites and more than 90,000 participants nationwide • The Arthritis Walk is the ideal activity for employee involvement and team building • The only national event focused on “total joint health” targeting women aged 32+ • The Arthritis Walk illustrates that arthritis is NOT just an older person’s disease. It’s a very real consumer health issue that affects people of all ages, even children* *300,000 are children – Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Arthritis Prevalence Data, October 2002

  11. Event Profile • The event has a “team” focus, to encourage people to motivate and inspire each other • Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $100 each ($1000 per team of 10 people). People raise 70% more money when fundraising as a team! • Individuals are also welcome to participate in the event • The Arthritis Walk is a positive and motivating event that helps educate people about arthritis prevention and control through a healthy and active lifestyle
