WHAT IS ILLUSTRATED NOVEL? The term "illustrated novel"
ILLUSTRATED NOVEL 50% of the narrative is presented without words. The reader must interpret the images in order to comprehend completely the story. Textual portions are presented in traditional form. Some illustrated novels may contain no text at all. Span all genres.
EXAMPLE: ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND BY: LEWIS CARROLL A lice's Adventures in Wonderland is an 1865 English children's novel by Lewis Carroll (a pseudonym of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson). A young girl named Alice falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world of anthropomorphic creatures. It is seen as a prime example of the literary nonsense genre. Its play with logic gives the story lasting popularity with adults as well as children.
LEWIS CARROLL Lewis Carroll was born on January 27, 1932 in England as Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, also known as (Lewis Carroll). He was an english author best known for his children's novel Alice's Adventure in Wonderland. Alice Liddell, the dean's daughter at Christ Church, was a 10-years-old girl and Lewis Carroll's friend. It is generally believed that the character of Alice was influenced by Liddel herself.
