Director • A director oversees all the creative aspects of the films production. • They have to visualize a script whilst guiding actors and crew to capture their desired image and vision for the screen. • A director will interpret scripts, set the films tone, work with heads of departments, work with casting director to hire the correct actor for the job, direct actors and camera crew, work with editors to piece together the film and work with the sound and music departments to chose desired sound and music for scenes

Steven Spielberg • Know for conveying emotion through facial zoom in close ups • Considered one of the founders of the new Hollywood era • Director, producer and screenwriter • Considered greatest director of all time • Predicted his films box offices add up to around 10 billion dollars • His first feature film was ‘Firelight’ • Some of his most famous films include: Jaws (1975), Twilight, Jurassic Park (1993) , War horse, Saving Private Ryan(1998), Catch me if you can (2002), Indian Jones: Riders of the lost ark ( 1981), Schadler's List (1993)

  4. Camera Operator • Camera operators capture the action, they shoot what’s happening. • They have to decide which camera to use based on the conditions of the scene for example they have to consider the composition, framing and movement of a shot • They have to control the camera equipment both in a studio and on location for film.

Hoyte van Hoytema • He has worked with directors such as Mikael Marcimain, Tomas Alfredson and Christopher Nolan. • Bafta nomination for best cinematography • Worked on films such as James Bond: spectre, Tenet and Dunkirk • Member of the American Society of Cinematographers and Swedish Society of cinematographers

  6. Editor • A film editor manages all material filmed and selects the clips from different camera angles and takes then cuts them to the way in which they want to use in the film to tell the story. • They are also responsible for coordinating visuals and sound • They add sound effects, graphics, special effects and more to the film to create the final product. • They work in the post-production aspect of film making

  7. Michael Kahn • Frequently collaborates with Spielberg • They first collaborated in 1977 such as Close encounters of the Third kind and has edited all of Spielberg's films since • He has won two BAFTAs for best editing for the films Schindlers list and Fatal Attraction • He is now 91 and is still editing doing West Side Story last year and The Fabelmans this year.

  8. Art Detector / Director of Photography • Art directors / Director of Photography are responsible for the visual style of the film and how things look. • They read the screenplay and work closely with directors to discuss the look and feel of the film. • They decide how they want the scenes to look through lighting, framing and camera movement and then will make sure they have the required kit and crew for this. • They will discuss any special camera or lighting movements with the camera operator. • They DOP also has to make sure every shot is usable and decide when they're not

Rick Carter • Rick Carter is a Art Director and production designer • He has worked on films such as Star Wars: episode VII – The force awakens, Lincoln and Forest Gump • Earned a Oscar Nomination for his work on Forest Gump • He has earned numerous other nominations for other films he has worked on.

Producer • Producers oversee the practical, financial and creative aspects of a film and are often heavily involved in the early stages of the film and are a driving force throughout the process to distribution. • They decide the scale and budget of a film and then will source the financing required from investors, distributors and studios. • They are the overall decision makers. • They work closely with the director and their creative ideas and approve production costs. • They solve problems throughout the production process, they also approve location and hire production staff and well delegate reasonability's to line producers • They are also reasonable for legal requirements such as health and safety of crew

Kevin Feige • Chief Creative officer of marvel studios • Primary producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe • Highest grossing producer of all time • Adapted lesser known super heroes into blockbuster films such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man • He was rejected from film school 5 times • Learnt a lot about producing from Lauren Shuler Donner who was in charge of producing X Men Movies
