Neighborhood Advisors and Community Leaders: Future Perspectives The study examines how the role is changing today and how it will evolve over the next five years. It presents current consultants' views on the skills and supports they need to adapt to a new role, as well as short and long-term barriers to change.
ANC 5d05 future role of elected officials has become important in the context of legislative changes and current laws affecting local government. The debate over the role of councils in making local decisions and ANC 5d05 projects has been a concern for the elected officials.

They must be empowered and supported to communicate with residents and community members using various tools. • Advocacy: Councilors should be able to speak openly and publicly to challenge senior officials. • Political work: Councilors must recognize and value the political aspect of the work and not see it as an obstacle to the promotion of local work.
Ward 5 Community Leader • Local Actions: Elected officials and community members want elected officials to be able to solve immediate local problems, especially persistent issues in public spaces such as fly-tipping, graffiti, or parks ignoring green space. • Influence: Councilors must have good opportunities to influence strategic decisions about how to allocate public services and spending, and to the extent that community needs and intelligence can be better reflected in how services are organized and delivered.
