Since they are not aware of any particular language they tend to express their feelings, needs and wants by simply crying and whining. Once the sign language is taught to them they can easily communicate through these symbols and signs, parents understand what they mean and provide the needful. One of the common misconceptions about sign language is that they delay speech development in children. It is a major myth due to which most of the parents hesitate to teach sign language to their children.

  3. It allows children to have an accelerated speech and emotional development parallel to their age. Well, studies have proved that learning sign language does not have any negative impact on the speech development of children. It enables a child to communicate effectively without the use of overwhelming emotions like crying or whining.
