The University of Oslo (UoO) operates on an outdated telephony system, predominantly powered by Northern Telecom Meridian and an expanded CS1000M/CS1000E platform. This legacy infrastructure, some of which dates back to 1992, poses significant challenges such as cumbersome daily operations, limited service expansion, and complex integration issues. With 20 individual PBXs and the absence of modern interfaces, transitioning to VoIP is imperative for cost-efficient scalability and streamlined communication, fostering a more agile academic environment.
