  1. Mokka vs. LCDG4 Comparison Guilherme, Jeremy Sep.17, 2003

  2. Data Samples Single particle samples, 1000 evts each • 10 GeV muons • 50 Gev pions (flat in phi) • 50 electrons (theta = 60°, phi = 90°) Warning: different kinematics!!

  3. Energy per ECal layer - pions

  4. Energy per HCal layer - pions

  5. Live energy per cell in ECal

  6. Live energies per cell in Hcal

  7. LCDG4: Eabs per cell in Ecal

  8. LCDG4: Eabs in Ecal (log scale)

  9. LCDG4: Eabs per cell in Hcal

  10. Total live energy - pions

  11. Total corrected energy - pions

  12. Total live energy – electrons

  13. Total corrected energy – electrons

  14. Conclusions • Likely there are still some bugs in LCDG4 • Despite clear disagreements in EM showers between Mokka and LCDG4, they show better agreement among them than with Gismo • None of them are not properly corrected using Gismo-based sampling fractions • More investigations needed

  15. Next steps • Repeat comparisons using projective LCDG4 • Fair comparison: same versions of libraries, same cuts, same kinematics • Find/fix problem with fake peaks in absorber energies
