Transnet Port Terminals Business Overview • Transnet Port Terminals is a National Port terminal operator and a division of Transnet Ltd • TPT operates container, bulk, automotive and breakbulk terminals • TPT capital investment plan represents R9.5bn (US$ 1.3bn) of Transnet’s R80bn (US$ 10bn) capital investment programme over the next 5 years • TPT employs 5900 people • TPT volumes handled in 2007/08 across its 4 sectors : • 4 container terminals at 3 ports handled 3.4m teu • 4 bulk terminals handled 48.4m tons of imports and exports, including 33m tons of iron ore exports from Saldanha IOT • 3 automotive terminals imported and exported 550,000 vehicles • 7 break bulk terminals handled 11.5m tons
