  7. Project Goals 3 Overall Goals in Order of Importance • Implement a web-based database allowing customers to browse inventory via PC/Smartphone/PDA • Implement a hardware/software solution to host website and database • Implement a shopping cart and ordering system for the website

  8. Project Progress • HTML & CSS • Preliminary design work • Color scheme, photography, & logo • Page layout • Navigation • Need more layout ideas • Need more cross-browser research & testing • Including mobile device functionality

Rationale for Design • LAMP solution is a free web-server that gives developer full control over environment • PC Hardware ~$1500 • Internet Connection $45 and up per month • Domain Registration $2-10 • Additional $3-15 per month for hosting plans • Potential small business opportunity • Dual functionality of web pages • PC functionality • Mobile device functionality
