  1. Bio basics The impact

  2. Environmental implications

  3. Social (farmer-level) implications

  4. Social (Consumer-level) implications

  5. Theory of change Our premise: • All the stakeholders in the food chain (farmers, processors, traders, retailers, regulators, etc. ) are mainly influenced by the consumers’ need for cheap and commoditized food • Leading to practices aimed at driving down cost of production, resulting in unhealthy food for families Hence our theory of change By engaging with families, by educating and empowering them, we can initiate a behavioral change, making them value safe food, thereby driving the demand for safe, whole, organic, and nutritious food. • Driving the other stakeholders (farmers, retailers, regulators, etc.) to cater to this demand for organic whole food. • Leading to increase in sustainable farming • Leading to better health for all, higher incomes for farmers, and a better natural environment

  6. Bio Basics impact • Conserving agro-bio-diversity by encouraging consumption of traditional heritage varieties of rice, wheats and millets • Safe food and good health for over 2 Lakh users (est.) • Educating and empowering families to make the transition to a more sustainable way of life • By offering solutions to build in new grains (millets, red rices, etc) into their daily lives • By engaging on dealing with health and wellness in a more natural way • Providing a peek at the farming aspect of our food, to enable them to appreciate local, seasonal and natural • Decent livelihoods and substantially better remuneration for over 5000 farmers (est.) • Supporting Seed Savers to preserve traditional varieties • Keeping 10,000 acres (est.) farmlands chemical-free • Building a narrative around natural well-being, thereby supporting the organic movement in India Source: www.flaticon.com
