Our Mission The mission of the Dean of Students Office is to enhance student learning and interpersonal growth by serving as a resource for students and families navigating the Niner Nation journey. Each program unit within the Dean of Students Office has a specific mission, but one common goal: to provide education, outreach, and support that maximizes opportunities to fully participate in and authentically contribute to the University experience.

Staff and Program Units • Christine Reed Davis, Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students • Oversee four program units comprised of multiple functions • Lead a team of 31 full-time professional staff; 100+ graduate and undergraduate leadership staff • Chair, Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment teams • Deputy Title IX Coordinator • Crisis management response • Primary point of contact for death of a student • Campus Memorial Service • Commencement Speaker and Bell Ringer selections • Annual Honors and Awards selections • Office location: King 217

Bill benefit certifications for veterans and dependents • Guidance on transition from military to university life • Connections to campus and community resources • Veteran Student Lounge • Veterans Week events • Advising for Student Veterans of America student organization • Office location: Barnard 103 • Director, Bill Wilson

Identity, Equity and Engagement • Led by Associate Dean and Director, Kim Turner • Offers programs, resources, and experiences that enhance cultural competency, inclusion, and identity expansion • Provides support to 100+ multicultural student organizations • Student Advising for Freshman Excellence (SAFE) year long peer mentoring program • Identity development/exploration • Cultural heritage month programming • Conversation series • LGBTQ+ outreach and education • Office locations: • Union 210 & King 210

Student Conduct & Academic Integrity • Led by Associate Dean and DirectorJames Lorello • Oversee Code of Student Responsibility and Code of Academic Integrity polices, procedures, and adjudication • Coordinate Help Seeking Protocol • Advise Student Conduct Board • Pre-Admission Safety Review • Consultation for faculty/staff about about student behavior • Encourage responsible decisions through compassionate conversations • Office location: King 217

Student Assistance and Support Services • Led by Associate Dean and Director, Larry Gourdine • Advocate for students with issues that negatively impact academic success • Absence verifications and requests for Incompletes • Withdrawal for Extenuating circumstances • Niner Care case management team • Coordinate Bias Assessment Resource Team (BART) • Tuition, Housing & Dining (THD) Appeals • Swipe Out Hunger and Student Emergency Housing programs • Office location: King 118
