  2. Committee Organizational Guidelines / Ground Rules • Attendance is required • In person for initial meetings • Allows for membership participation and exchange of ideas • Substitution and teleconferences are difficult with this type of work at this point

  3. Meeting Site - Location • Select Meeting Location: • Madison, Milwaukee, Other • Meeting Schedule – select dates for monthly meetings • Time – What works? • Dates – Schedule monthly meetings

  4. HCPA Committee selectionas of discussion held 6/23/06 • Meeting location will be Madison • Future Dates are as follows: • August 4, 2006 • September 8, 2006 • October 13, 2006 • November 17, 2006 • December 8, 2006 • 2007 – 1st Friday every month

  5. Regular Meetings • Whole committee • Sub-committee meetings • Study issues identified by the committee • All meetings are subject to “open records” law

  6. Public Input Encouraged • Other medical professionals or interested parties • Written • Verbal • Both

  8. Committee Meeting • Action Items • Establish a quorum (15 members) • Majority rule • No secret ballot • No proxies

  9. By-Laws will include:(per 6/23/06 discussion) • Quorum for committee meeting will be 10 members present • Simple majority of voting members will be 8 out of 10 present • For major changes, super majority of 12 affirmative votes and include a minority viewpoint on the issue

  10. Commitment • 1 day – monthly meeting • Voluntary participation • Advisory to: • Department of Workforce Development (DWD) • Worker’s Compensation Advisory Council

  11. Committee Members • May attend public hearings • May request special presentations be made before this committee • Any inquiries or special requests should be forwarded to DWD • Spokesperson for the committee is the Chair

  12. Support the Committee • DWD – Mike Topp, Health Care Specialist • DWD – James O’ Malley, Bureau Director, Legal Services
