  1. Are you thinking of studying Fine Art? There are different types of degrees in subjects related to arts and humanities. However, we've decided to focus on just one: a Fine Arts degree for this study guide. This is arguably the study of art in its purest form, focusing on pure creativity rather than being subject to other constraints, like Graphic Design, Animation or Illustration. While fine art students can have a hard time attaining a stable career, particularly one related to their studies. The evidence does suggest that pursuing this particular dream usually leads to lifelong happiness. Subjects that you study in fine arts The range of topics that can be studied under the aegis of Fine Art is vast. For example, your course might cover painting, drawing, animation, printmaking, textiles, multimedia art, design, dance, theater, theory of art, mosaics, photography, film-making, sculpture, electronic media, costume design, calligraphy, conceptual art, folk art, and probably a few other disciplines as well. However, some areas are likely to feature in every bachelor of Fine Arts degree beyond the vast number of volunteer opportunities available to you. Drawing Honing your drawing skills, mainly drawing from observation rather than photographs, is an essential part of almost all fine art degrees. Therefore, you should demonstrate skill in your portfolio when you apply. It doesn't need to be in the form of finished work but can be sketchbook drawings that contribute towards the finished piece that you will have plenty of opportunities to perfect throughout your degree. Theory of Art While a significant part of your programme will focus on the practice of art rather than the theory, individuals can expect that there will be few discussions of art and history. Commercial and careers advice Part of your course is likely to be concerned not just with producing art but also with selling it. You'll learn a little about entrepreneurship and business, and above all, you'll learn how to compile an awe-inspiring portfolio. What do I need for a Fine Arts degree? The only compulsory A-level is Art itself. As far as your different A-levels go, you might want to consider History of Art if your academy offers it. History may be helpful, and as might English Literature or, in terms of learning practical skills, you may want to take Chemistry or Math. The most important thing is to produce the best portfolio you possibly can support your application. Most Fine Art degrees will require you first to take a Foundation course. You might see this as an additional, potentially unnecessary year. Still, it will be invaluable in honing your skills, allowing you to come to Jindal Global University ready to focus entirely on your creative aims rather than still being stuck on practising the basics. What skills will you acquire with a fine arts degree?

  2. Skills or knowledge gained by Fine Art students falls into two categories: practical and transferable. You will gain a wide variety of practical skills, which could be anything from printmaking to welding. These technical skills may prove more valuable than you realise. You will understand to manage your time and motivate yourself even beyond the extent conferred by most degrees regarding transferable skills or knowledge. In addition, you will gain organisational skills and learn to work to a deadline. What careers are possible with a Fine Arts degree? The significant disadvantage of a Fine Arts degree is in graduate employability. Less than two- thirds of Fine Art students are employed within six months of graduation. The statistics on the job that they then find it even more depressing: only around a quarter of graduates employed in fields relating to art, design and media, which is fewer than are used in retail or bar work. Most individuals who make a living from art have a secondary job paying the bills. Fine Art students are making their living as photographers, graphic designers, artists, arts officers, consultants, and web designers of careers employed in careers relating to art. Bachelor of Arts administration is a popular field but is highly competitive. In addition, a significant number of Fine Art graduates go into teaching. Summary As you can see, fine arts education is not a single course that you can take. Instead, it has a lot of other branches, where learners can find anything that might interest them, from photography to comic books. Whether you decide to get a degree in fine arts or attend an online class, this type of education will only positively affect your life. Be open to other experiences, and you will find something that you like for sure.
