Gravity die casting manufacturers

Melted metal is poured into a reusable metal mold in the gravity die casting technique, which is sometimes referred to as permanent mold casting or chill casting. Due to the fact that the molten metal is poured into the mold while gravity is at work, this process is known as "gravity" die casting.

  1. ShreeniwasCasttech Industries Introduction of Gravity Die Casting: Gravity die casting, also known as permanent mold casting, is a metal casting process that involves the use of a reusable mold made of metal, typically steel or cast iron. This method is distinct from other casting processes like sand casting, where a new mold is created for each casting. Here's an overview of the gravity die casting process: Mold Preparation: A permanent mold, often made of two halves, is created from metal. This mold is designed to shape the final product. The mold is preheated to a specific temperature before the casting process begins. Metal Melting: The metal, usually aluminum or other non-ferrous alloys, is melted in a separate furnace.

  2. ShreeniwasCasttech Industries Pouring: The molten metal is poured into the preheated mold. Gravity is used to fill the mold, hence the name "gravity die casting." Cooling: After filling the mold, the metal is allowed to cool and solidify within the mold cavity. The controlled cooling process helps achieve the desired mechanical properties of the final product. Demolding: Once the metal has solidified, the mold is opened, and the casting is removed. The mold can be used for multiple castings, making this a more efficient process for large-scale production.

  3. ShreeniwasCasttech Industries Gravity die casting offers several advantages: Accuracy and Surface Finish: The process provides a high degree of dimensional accuracy and a good surface finish on the castings. Reduced Porosity: The use of a permanent mold reduces the likelihood of porosity in the final product compared to some other casting methods. Efficiency: The reusable mold allows for a quicker and more cost-effective production process, especially for large quantities. Strength: Gravity die castings often exhibit improved mechanical properties compared to sand castings. However, there are some limitations to gravity die casting, such as the complexity of mold design and the limitation to certain types of metals. It is particularly suitable for alloys with low melting points, like aluminum and zinc.
