  3. FRACTION A fraction consists of two whole numbers separated by a horizontal line.

  5. Conversion Example 1 • Consider a number 0.5 • 0 . 5 • ones • tens • Count the place value of the numbers suceeding • the decimal point. It is tens here , So • 5 5 5 1 • 10 10 5 2

  6. Conversion Example 2 Consider a number 0.10 0 . 1 0 ones hundreds tens Count the place value of the numbers succeeding the decimal point. It is hundereds here , So 10 10 10 1 100 100 10 10

  7. Conversion Example 3 Consider a number 1. 55 1 . 5 5 ones hundreds tens Count the place value of the numbers succeeding the decimal point. It is hundreds here , So 55 55 5 11 1 11 100 100 5 20 20
