  1. Safety Tips for Safe Living Stay safely: The criminal statistics show every 2-3 minutes a burglary takes place in California. Studies have shown that thieves generally do not need more than 60 seconds to get inside a house. Below you will find general tips for your own safety and for preventive crime control. Burglar protection means safe living! Doors / Locks: Ensure that all external doors have safety locks with reinforced locking plates. Never leave a key under the floor mat, in a flower head or on a protruding door or window frame. All exterior doors should be made of metal or solid wood. Install a spy camera with wide-angle lens on all external doors, so you can always see who is standing in front of the door. To stay safe, change the locks when you lose a key or move into a new apartment. Always lock the door when you leave the house, even for a short period of time. A simple "pulling" of the door does not provide burglar protection.

  2. If you live alone as a woman, it is advisable to mention only the initials of the first name on the nameplate or the mailbox. Window: As burglar protection keep the entrance area and the windows free from excessive planting so that the burglar cannot pursue his work unseen. Garage / storage rooms: As burglar protection, you should always lock garage doors, doors to sheds or other storage areas. Ensure that the doors are properly closed. You should not leave wagon keys even in a locked garage. Other Safety Tips: •Thieves avoid bright light. Install outside lighting and leave it switched on at night. We recommend an external lighting system that is attached to a motion detector. •When you go on vacation give your house key to your neighbor or someone you trust and provide their name and number to police. •When you travel, set the timer on lamps in different rooms, burglar will feel like you are at home. Lamps that burn 24 hours a day are a sure sign for the thief that nobody is home. •Inform a neighbor about departure and return dates. •If possible, stop all deliveries of newspapers/magazines during your absence. •In the case of a long absence, you should ensure that your lawn is mown. •Ask a neighbor to empty your mailbox regularly. •Store small valuables in a safe or bank vault. •Do not leave any news that you are not at home.
