  2. What Is American Heritage? American Heritage is a week-long educational program for high school students from across America to learn about citizenship, leadership and life skills. Delegates learn what they can do in their communities to become “Better Citizens Today, Better Leaders Tomorrow.”

Engaging workshops Enlightening speakers Visiting Congress Campaigning for your “President” Participate in a Youth In Governance assembly Capitol Steps comedy troupe Mock congressional sessions Learn how a bill becomes a law Cultural heritage experience Talent show Dances What Will You Do? Participate in many exciting activities including:

  4. Government Social Youth In Governance Talent Show Social Action Press Corps Professional Development How Can I Become A Leader? Pick from a variety of committees to work on including:

  5. Dining facilities Recreation room Computers with e-mail access http://4hcenter.org/ Chevy Chase, Maryland One mile outside Washington, D.C. Friendly staff 24 hour security Where Will You Stay? Delegates stay at The National 4-H Youth Conference Center.

  7. What Will You See? • Arlington National Cemetery • The US Capitol • The Smithsonian museums • DC’s Twilight Tattoo with the US Military • Holocaust Museum • Mount Vernon • White House • National Cathedral • Old Town Alexandria, Virginia

  8. How Can Groups Register? • Contact your county 4-H agent for more information. • Attendance is limited to SIX youth per DISTRICT! • Districts with over 6 delegates may use other district’s spots.
