  4. Absence of cooperation… But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Eccl. 4:10b

  9. How does the Cooperative Program work? • It begins when an individual commits to the Lord… • And joins a local church… • And determines how much of his/her income to give to the local church…

  10. How does the Cooperative Program work? • The local church determines on an annual basis the percentage of its income to give to the Cooperative Program… • The church sends this percentage to the State Association…

  11. How does the Cooperative Program work? • The State Association determines on an annual basis how much of its income it will give to the SBC…

  12. Did you know? Out of 41 State Associations, IBSA ranks fifth in percentage of income given to the SBC!

  13. Only 4 State Associations give a greater percentage than the 47.25% that IBSA gives to the SBC!

  14. How does the Cooperative Program work? • The SBC determines each year how much of its income will go to its various denominational agencies…

How does the Cooperative Program work? • The North American Mission Board (NAMB) appoints missionaries and in partnership with IBSA helps subsidize some of the salaries for CMBA. • NAMB also sends funds through Joint Strategy Planning with IBSA to support ministries of local associations (such as CMBA)

How does the Cooperative Program work? • Some associations receive heavy financial support from NAMB and IBSA… • CMBA receives more financial assistance from NAMB and IBSA than any of the other 36 associations in Illinois. • Some Associations are fully self-supporting and receive no funds from NAMB. their cooperative program gifts help support associations such as CMBA.

  18. How do local associations become self supporting? • In addition to giving to the Cooperative Program… • Member churches give enough to the local association to support its annual budget.

  19. How can the churches of CMBA continue to grow in partnership to accomplish Kingdom goals? • Continue to generously give to the Cooperative Program… • Continue to generously give to the ministry of CMBA.
