  2. Tropical rainforest They are too much of species such as insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals. The amount of this species are more than 1,891 species of birds, 623 of amphibians, 467 of mammals, 518 of reptiles, and 3200 species of fish reside in Colombia. The Flora is highly diverse in only 1 square kilometer, they are as many as 100 different tree species. But also many factors can affect it like: the pollution, global warming. Also there is a big amount of different fruits almost 3000 types.

  3. Jaguars Jaguars can reach up to six feet in length. The average male jaguar weighs about 120 pounds, but some individuals can weigh as much as 300 pounds. Jaguars are most famous for their beautiful spotted coats. The spots of the jaguar let them hide in the rainforest and allow the jaguar to hide amongst the grasses, bushes and trees that dominate its habitat. The jaguar as the main predator in the tropical rainforest its main role maintain balance in the ecosystem.

  4. characteristics ◘ The Jaguar is the third biggest of all the cats. ◘ Some are yellow with black spots. ◘ Some are black with black spots. ◘ A Jaguar kills its prey with one big bite. ◘ It climbs trees and swims well. ◘ Jaguars live in swampy places near rivers and lakes.

  5. Habitat Jaguars are found in rainforests, flooded forests, grasslands, woodlands and dry forest. Jaguars spend much of their time on the ground. They use their padded paws to move silently through the forest floor. Not as agile as a leopard, jaguars are capable of climbing trees to hunt or to rest.

  6. Diet Jaguars are mostly nocturnal hunters. They use their excellent vision and sharp teeth to capture its prey. Jaguars are known to eat more than 85 species of prey, including armadillos, deer, squirrels, birds and even snails. Not confined to hunting on land, jaguars are adept at snatching fish, turtles and young caiman from the water. They are even able to hunt monkeys.
