  3. Some Examples: Birth Companions Support, advice and guidance to pregnant women prisoners Prisoners’ Families & Friends Service Mental health & welfare of the wives and children Concord Prison Trust Counselling service in Pentonville & Belmarsh

  4. Emerging Issues? The key issues have always been there - it’s only in more recent times that there has been a drive to address them. Prisons are now more aware of the value of interventions but they don’t have resources. Better now at making the links eg poor mental health linked to poor literacy and vice-versa.
