  1. Bad BreathSetting the Record Straightfor theGood Health & Beauty Show 17th to 19th JuneDarling HarbourDr Geoffrey SpeiserAustralian Bad Breath Clinicbreezecare.com.au

  2. What is Bad Breath? Bad Breathis caused by bacteria that make smelly compounds we exhale through our mouth and nose. It is not caused by indigestion or stomach problems

  3. Old Wife's Tales • You are not cleaning your teeth • You have digestion problems • You have liver problems • You have worms • I caught it from kissing someone • Bad Breath comes from a Thrush infection

  4. Who has Bad Breath? A study in Israel has shown that 50% of middle aged people have socially unacceptable bad breath.

  5. Who has Bad Breath? Another study just released in the UK showed: Secretaries have the freshest breath Lawyers & Teachers have the worst breath

  6. Acclimatization Our bodies are designed to not smell our own odour. This is thought to date back to prehistoric days to assist with the hunting of prey.

  7. Typical Bad Breath Sufferer

  8. Typical Bad Breath Sufferer

  9. “I have suffered from chronic bad breath for several years and after many visits to GPs, ENT specialists, and dentists who gave little help, I am praying this could be the solution to my problems. I have found that my bad breath has been very debilitating and depressing. It has been hard to even get out of bed in the morning, knowing that no matter how much cleaning and mouth washing I did, I still had to talk to people in my job all day with bad breath. I find it hard to make eye contact, look away from the person when talking, and panic if they stand too close to me. Sometimes I don't talk at all for fear I will offend someone with my breath. I can't go out without at least a few packets of gum or lozenges on me, and am constantly chewing or sucking which also offends people. I dread sitting next to someone on a plane or bus. I have even heard so called friends at work snickering about me and know they must think I don't clean my teeth. I hope one day to become the outgoing people person I used to be.”

  10. Bacteria cause Bad Breath Smells Virtually all bad breath is due to the activity of bacteria going about their daily business. These bacteria can be found in large numbers on our tongues, teeth, gums, throat, tonsils and nasal passages. Exceptions – Hunger Breath, Diabetes

  11. A Different Smell – Hunger Breath • The smell is due to ketones • Caused by breakdown of body fats • Increasing problem due to fad diets • Worsens during the day • Cleaning teeth will not stop smell

  12. The Smells Bacteria Make

  13. What Starts Bad Breath? • Sticky film called “biofilm” builds up daily on our teeth, tongue & throat. • Biofilm that is not removed becomes invaded with bacteria. • Biofilm can contain up to 800 types of bacteria.

  14. Where do Bad Breath Bacteria Live? • Below the surface of the tongue • Below the gums around the teeth • In the back of the throat • In the nasal passages

  15. Illness CausesBad Breath • Chronic Nasal Problems– thickens nasal mucous, stops the nasal hairs from doing their cleaning action. • Periodontal (Gum) Disease – promotes the growth of hardy bacteria and increases the available surface area for biofilm, below the gum line. • Dry Mouth (Sjogren’s Syndrome) – affect the quality and quantity of saliva. Saliva is nature’s cleaning solution that stops mouth disease and helps reduce bad breath.

  16. Medicines CauseBad Breath 7 of the top 10 prescription medicines cause dry mouth • Blood Pressure • Allergy & Sinus • Anti Depressant • Heartburn & Indigestion • Sedatives and Relaxants

  17. Lifestyle Causes Bad Breath • Alcohol –dries the mouth, decreases saliva. • Dairy Products –provide a food source for bad breath bacteria. Thicken nasal mucous. • Smoking –removes oxygen from the mouth, promoting bad breath bacteria. • Coffee & Other drinks –increase acid in the mouth, directly affecting saliva content.

  18. water water & sugar milk flavoured milk flat mineral water soda water apricot yoghurt beer & wine sparkling mineral water orange juice apple juice gatorade diet coke ribena sprite & fanta powerade coca cola & pepsi vinegar lemon juice stomach acid car battery acid swimming pool acid All Drinks Below pH5 are ACID & Affect Saliva Acid Level (pH)

  19. What Else About Bad Breath? Once bad breath is chronic, it is extremely difficult to eliminate! Never use large doses of Antibiotics Follow a program specifically developed to tackle all the issues of bad breath, not just mouthwash and toothpaste

  20. How Do You Get Rid of Bad Breath • Change the bacteria in the mouth back to normal with KForce Probiotics • Remove the biofilm • from tongue with • Breeze Tongue System

  21. KForceFights the Bacteria that cause Bad Breath • KForce = Discovered at Otago University • KForce = contains weaponry called BLIS K12 • KForce = a naturally occurring bacteria • KForce = only lives on the tongue surface • KForce = only found in 2% of the population

  22. KForcemakesBLIS K12 • BLIS =BacteriocinLikeInhibitorySubstance • BLIS = Bacterial defence weaponry • BLIS =Predominant in healthy mouths • BLIS =fights bacteria that cause Bad Breath

  23. How Effective Is BLIS K12 • The dish is covered in bacteria (orange colour) • Top 2 circles are BLIS K12 bacteria. The red area is the kill area • Bottom 5 circles are non BLIS bacteria. They show very little kill area

  24. KForce with BLIS K12Does Two Important Things Passive defence mechanism occupies space on the tongue that other bad breath bacteria would usually occupy Active defence mechanism once KForce has colonised it will actively defend its tongue territory by using the BLIS defence

  25. Breeze TongueCleaning System Breeze Oral Gel Cleans the tongue surface Breeze Tongue Cleaner Removes the biofilm that collects on the tongue Breeze Instructions Special technique developed to enhance tongue cleaning.

  26. Tongue CleaningwithBreeze Oral Gel removes the biofilm that builds up daily on the Tongue Surface • Chlorine Dioxide helps oxygenate the tongue • Aloe Vera helps soothe the tongue • CoQ10 Complex helps keep the tongue healthy • Mild flavour does not irritate the tongue

  27. Typical BreezeCare Testimonial “Many years ago my wife hinted me on the poor state of my breath. I have tried almost every over the counter medication that I have come across. I have been to see many dentists without any success. I took Halico Bacteria test which came up negative. Meanwhile the state of my breath continued to deteriorate. Going out and talking to people became a problem. Eventually I started shying away from social outings as my self confidence went low. I couldn't be physically affectionate with my wife any more. The kisses and hugs stopped and we started sleeping in separate rooms. Then one day on National TV we saw your ad on Today Tonight. That day has since turned out to be my miracle day. I got on the net and read more on your product. At first I thought it was just a gimmick - one of those ads to dupe people and make quick money. But my supportive wife persisted that I try it. And so I did. Right from day one we noticed a vast improvement in my breath and the continued result has been overwhelming. Once again in a long long time I have started enjoying kisses and hugs from my lovely wife. I feel very confident now going out and talking to people.Thank you very much for putting back some life into my life. Keep on with your good work. And God bless you.”
