Benchmarking • Compare your buildings to each other and similar facilities. • Good performers? Poor performers? • EPA Energy Star Building Portfolio Manager • https://www.energystar.gov
What to have BEFORE you start • 12 or more consecutive months of energy data for all fuels covering the same time period. • The correct zip code for the facility • The square footage of the facility • The year the facility was built or the date of the last major renovation.
4 Basic Steps • Step # 1 Register for an account • Step # 2 Add a property • Step # 3 Add a space • Step # 4 Add a meter
Step 2: Add a property • A single facility for which my organization owns or manages 90% of the floor area. • A portion of the facility for which my organization owns or manages less than 90% of the floor area. • A hospital composed of a single facility or a collection of facilities. • A municipal waste water treatment plant or water treatment and distribution utility. • Add a campus or other collection of multiple facilities at the same geographic location. • Select one of the above choices.
Step # 2: Eligible Space Types Note: Effective Date MUST be the same as the first date of the billing cycle for which you enter information.
