  4. Why Spartans Smilers? • 92% of Primary 7 aged children in North Edinburgh have tooth decay • NHS Tooth brushing Programme stops in P2 • No programmes incorporating oral health & football Girl dribbles around giant tooth

  5. Smilers Programme • 5 week programme • Classroom & Football pitch based • Child Friendly Learning Styles • Covering; • Plaque • Tooth Brushing • Diet • Dental Visiting • Numeracy & Literacy (CfE) Sparry

  6. Smilers- Impact Edinburgh University Evaluation • 80% of boys & girl retain key learning points even after 1 year • Dental registration increase • Over 90% of children have visited the dentist since project • Children teaching family members at home Children love Sparry
