Daily Life in Ancient Sparta • The men of Sparta were required to marry by the age of 30. • After birth, if the child survived being bathed in wine he/she was brought before the Gerousiaso that they could then decide if the child was considered to be puny or deformed. If he/she was found to be this, the baby was thrown of the side of Mount Taygetos.

  3. Male Spartan’s would begin military training at the age of seven.
