Industrial Road Program (IRP) Purpose statement: “to assist counties and communities with economic development efforts.”
Industrial Road Program (IRP) • State Funding authorized by Statute 24-5-101 • Applicant must be a County – Board of County Commissioners • IRP funds are matched 50-50 by the County • Project request must include a Viewer’s Report • Local match funding may come a variety of sources
Industrial Road Program (IRP) Funding • IRP is funded $ 4 million/biennium • $ 2 million per fiscal year • A county may receive up to $ 2 million per county per biennium • A county project may be funded for more than one biennium • Example: $2 M in FY10/11 and • $1.5 M in FY12/13( a total of $ 7 M project w/match) • A county may apply for multiple projects in a biennium – the total of the requests cannot exceed $2,000,000/biennium • Projects are funded on a first-come, first-served basis
Industrial Road Program (IRP) Application Process • County Commissioners submit to WYDOT District Engr. the following: • An adopted County Resolution, with: • A statement of need • Amount of the Request • Accompanying Location Map • Verification of Local Match • Viewer’s Report • A project cost estimate (based on qualified Engineering principles) • Statement addressing who will manage the project
