Performance Loss Impact: How do you know that you're focusing on the 'right' types of lost production time? I don't care about my OEE score. Sure, it tells me "how close to perfect" (making only good pieces, at full speed, with no stops) my production is...but the OEE score alone doesn't tell me where I need to improve. For that, I need to know my production losses. The best practice for categorizing lost production time is the "Six Big Losses": ●: Unplanned Stops, Planned Stops ●: Slow Cycles, Small Stops ●: Rejects on Startup, Rejects in Steady State In XL, we are capturing all 6 of the losses for every one of our 22 data dimensions (shift, part, team, hour, week, month,….).
