  2. Spiritual Gifts Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant… There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. 1Co 12:1,4-6 NIV

  4. Motivational Gifts We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. Rom 12:3-8 NIV

  8. Character • Takes initiative, does not like routine. • Verbally expressive, outspoken. • An inability to tolerate control. • Fiercely competitive. • Judges self harshly. • Has one or two real friends.

  9. Strengths • Reveals unrighteous motives and action by presenting truth. • An ability to discern people’s character and motives. • An urgency to speak plainly and persuasively with a capacity to identify, define and hate evil.

  10. Strengths • A real concern for God’s reputation. • An awareness of current events and the cultural implication of not following God’s Word. • Holy anger that inspires them to speak out against evil. • Strong desire for justice.

  11. Strengths • Willing to become broken before God themselves to prompt brokenness in others. • Often carry a burden for intercession.

  22. The attack • Seek legitimacy in the wrong way – do things to impress people. • Allow compromise to gain entrance into political, social and church structures. Hide your gift to be accepted

  23. Critical Success Factors • Must bring a first-fruit offering of their time, otherwise their time is devoured. • Must become a strong intercessor to guard against the tendency to judge, must always pray before they speak.

  25. Critical Success Factors • Guard relationships, restore friendships. • Be very careful if Exhorter is not one of your other motivational gifts. But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. 1Co 14:3 NIV
