Effects of Video-gaming: Research findings & intervention strategies by Douglas Gentile Kwon Jung-hye Date: Wednesday,19thJanuary, 2011 Time: 2.30 to 4.30pm Venue: NIE Block 2, LT 7 Dr Douglas Gentile is a developmental psychologist and one of the world's leading experts on the effects of mass media on children, adolescents, and adults. He runs the Media Research Lab at Iowa State University. He has been a collaborator on NIE’s EdRF and OER projects for over 4 years. He will present some results of the gaming research. Prof Kwon Jung-hye is a professor of clinical psychology from Korea University. One of her research areas is investigating relationships between early experiences and cognitive and interpersonal vulnerabilities. She has developed a 6-week gaming addiction prevention programme based on cognitive behavioural therapy and self-directed behavioural changes.
