  2. Product Pricing and Market • Conversion Cost is $80 • Cost reduced by a factor of 35 • Less than 10% cost increase for $900 mower prototype • Product Feasibility • Medium pressure natural gas conversions are possible for most small-engine applications • Market Growth • Medium pressure natural gas has the potential to replace as many as half of the gasoline powered small-engines in the U.S. at more than 4 million units per year.

  3. Business Strategy • Investment Need & Customer Focus • Initial investments will cover staffing • University resources will offset start-up costs • Customers provide production and funding for conversion of their product • Alternative Products (Competition) • Battery powered. Low cost and noise with low efficiency and low power output.

  4. People • Consumer Desirable • 91% of Americans worry about air pollution • Target Market • Consumers with available natural gas resources through global manufacturing leaders • Return of Investment • Faster than other alternative energy products

  5. Intellectual Property & Rights • Ownership of IP • Owned by Wright State University by default • Patentable Product • No existing patents for similar products

  6. Risk & Reward • Product and Production Problems • Economic and Environmental Benefits • $1.50 per gallon gas equivalent cheaper than gasoline • C8H18 for gasoline compared to CH4 for natural gas means less carbon to produce CO or CO2 • 95% of natural gas is locally pumped creating jobs and reducing dependence on foreign oil

  7. Conclusions • We have created a medium pressure natural gas conversion for small engines • $80 conversion with $1.50 less per gas gallon equivalent than gasoline • Reduces harmful emissions by over 50% for each unit
