  2. SPEECH DISORDER A speech disorder is a condition in which a person has problems like creating and forming words or speech sounds that need to communicate with others.   3. TYPES OF SPEECH DISORDERS → Aphasia → Dysarthria → Stuttering → Dysphonia

  4. Aphasia → Aphasia is a type of language disorder that happens when you’ve brain damage on the language part of the brain i.e., left part of the brain.

  5. Dysarthria → Dysarthria is a type of speech disorder which is caused by muscles weakness. It can make the patient hard to speak or talk.

  6. Stuttering → Stutter is a type of speech disorder in which sounds, words, syllable or prolonged disturbing the normal flow of speech or blocks your words inside the throat.

  7. Dysphonia → Dysphonia is a type of neurological disorder that affecting the voice muscles in the voice box and it is arise due to an abnormality of the structures or the function of the voice.

  8. Causes of Speech disorder → Vocal cord damage → Brain damage → Muscle weakness → Strokes → Respiratory weakness → Drug abuse → Hearing loss

  9. Symptoms of Speech disorder → Repeating sounds → Elongating words → Distorting sound when talking → Taking pauses while talking → Blinking many times while talking → Adding extra words and sound → Brain damage

  11. Treament Some speech disorder may complete go away with time but some need to have overcome with speech therapy. Mild speech disorder may not required any kind of treatment but the treatment varies and depend on the type of speech disorders.
