  4. CHARACTERISTICS OF CREATIVE INDIVIDUALS • Memory for facts • Independent. • Flexible. • Flexible. • Reflective. • Many ideas. • Complexity of thought. • Persistent. • Memory for details. • Curious. • Imaginative. • Curious. • Open to ideas. • Fluency of thought. • Reflective.

  5. BRAINSTORMING • Brainstorm possible barriers to the development of creativity.

BARRIERS TO CREATIVITY • Cultural: traditions often rely on conformity. • Emotional: fears of making a mistake; seeming foolish; fear of the unknown; reluctance to play. • Perceptual: the inability to break away from patterns so can’t see the finer details’ overvaluing the real world. • Environmental: classrooms that fail to stimulate or challenge; lack of resources, no time to “play”, or experiment.
