Geoid and Mean Sea Surface Product and impact on SLAOle Andersen and YanniceFaugere Recommendations on Jason CS orbit choice: 5 presentations on MSS and Geoid improvement In 2017, we will have 25 years of SSH time series on the historical TP/J1/J2/J3 tracks => staying on the same track we would only gain little for MSS accuracy. The current MSS are based on 17 years of data: Still small residual effect of 98 El Niño can be seen. Issue to be revisited closer to the satellite launch. In 2017, we will have ingested Envisat New ERM + Cryosat-2 (+HY2) + possible Jason-1 New orbit => which should improve coming MSS Recom 1: A new ground-track will bring new information for MSS and Geoid
