  3. Definition. • The sense of sight lets us see thinghs with ours eyes. Ours eyes can detec informationabouttheshape, colour and location of thingsaroundus.

Parts of the eyes. • The cornea: is the first layer that covers the eye, it´s transparent and protects others parts of the eyelike the pupil and iris. • The pupil: it´s a smallhole that lets light into the eye. • The iris is around the pupil, is the coloredpart of the eye, it´smade of musclefibres that open and closethepupil. In humans, the pigmentation of the iris varies from light brown to black, depending on the concentration of melanin. • The lensfocuses light on the retina and is behind the iris and the pupil. • The retina has a thin layer of opticcells and detecscolours and light and send information to the opticnerve.

  6. Howtheeyework. • Eyes are organs that detect light and convert it into electro chemical impulses in neurons. The simplest photoreceptors in conscious vision connect light to movement.

Partsthatprotecttheeye • There are diferentspartsthatprotectstheeyes : • Theeyebrow: is an area of thick, delicate hairs above the eye that follows the shapeof the lower margin of the brow ridges of some mammals.  • The eyelid: is  a thin fold of skin that covers and protects the eye.  • Theeyelashesare one of the hairs that grow at the edge of the eyelid. Eyelashes protect the eye from debris.
