  2. QUALITY CONTROL PLAN • Contractor Quality Control Program began July 2002 • Contractor Option to submit "QC Manual" • Only 12 submitted – with 7 Approved • QC Plan required on all CQC Projects per Spec’s Department looking at a new way of providing CQC Plan

  4. QUALITY CONTROL PLAN • Two issues to discuss: • 1. QC Plan – will change to "Project Specific" QC Plan Supplement • 2. (Optional) QC Manual – will change to QC "Master Plan"

  5. "PROJECT SPECIFIC"QC PLAN SUPPLEMENT • New Format for "Project Specific" QC Plan • Current Way – New “Proposed” Way • "Standardized" form for "Project Specific" QC Plan Supplement

  6. "PROJECT SPECIFIC"QC PLAN SUPPLEMENT FOUR THINGS REQUIRED • Project Personnel • Laboratories • Supplier/ Producer • Other QCMP’s

"PROJECT SPECIFIC"QC PLAN SUPPLEMENT • You will no longer be required to provide a "detailed" QC Plan for each project specific contract. • You will only submit the "standardized" form • Addendums will still be required When Proposed Plan is accepted: What about the submittal time? • Submittal of the "Project Specific" QC Plan Supplement to the Project Administrator by Pre-Construction Conference or within 14 days of performing applicable work .

  8. QUALITY CONTROL MASTER PLAN • QC Master Plan is a "detailed" plan of: "HOW YOU DO YOUR BUSINESS" ! What is the Quality Control Master Plan? • What about my "TRADE SECRETS" ? Your QC Master Plan will be maintained behind the FDOT firewall and not displayed publicly!

  9. QUALITY CONTROL MASTER PLAN • The QCMP will be provided to the Department annually. • Once a QCMP has been submitted and accepted it will be updated if/as needed. How will I submit my "New" QCMP?

  10. QUALITY CONTROL MASTER PLAN • Inconsistencies in QC Plan requirements across the Districts Statewide • ONE DOT ! • Uniformity in QC Plans across the board • One QC Master Plan for all contracts statewide Why are we changing this process?
