  3. Undergraduate Post Graduation Plans 34.9% of students reported being FT employed or FT Graduate School * Students could select multiple post graduation plans

  4. FT Employment (N=174) * Students could choose multiple methods used to find job.

  6. Experiential Learning Students involved in Study Abroad, Research, Internships or Community Service had higher rates of FT Employment or FT grad school. * Students could select multiple activities

  8. Opportunities & Challenges 71.3% reported their job related to their major. 27.6% of the Class of 2011 reported that their job related to their major Analysis • Good news! • Significant change could be due to changing the survey question from Yes/No to Directly, Somewhat, Not Related

  9. Opportunities & Challenges 46% reported doing an internship during college. Nationally, 53% of students report doing an internship in college.* The percentage of students doing internships has increased by 4.1% over the class of 2011but is still below the national average Steps To Be Taken • Efforts to increase this number are having an impact but more work needs to be done. • Share data with academic schools and encourage them to encourage and support students in doing internships – meeting with Assistant Deans happened in September 2012 • Career Center currently focuses on being clearinghouse for internship postings and advises students on how to find internships. Increased focus will be placed on informing students of internship requirements/process for each academic school – information added to website fall 2012. *From The Class of 2011 Student Survey Report conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

  10. Opportunities & Challenges Intercollegiate Athletes reported the lowest percentage of FT employment or FT graduate school rates at graduation. Athletes: 34.6% versus 34.9% for UG students PT employment: 32% versus 34.9 for UG students Analysis • Efforts to increase the percentage for athletes are having an impact. Gap went from 14.8% to just .3%. Targeted marketing efforts will continue for this population

Opportunities & Challenges Students involved in Community Service, Research, Study Abroad and Internships had a higher percentage of FT employment or FT Grad School at Graduation than the total UG population. Involvement in activities and experiential learning opportunities has a positive impact on students’ employment rates. • These positive statistics have been shared with Student Development and Office of Service Learning for their promotion. • Career Center will use statistics when promoting internships to students through workshops and counseling.
