  1. MATTER By: Spencer Congel

  2. States Of Matter • There are 3 states of matter. Solids, Liquids, and Gases. Water is a great example because it can form all 3 states of matter. Ice, Water, and Evaporation. There is another state of matter that stars are made from but you don't need to know it now. • Examples: • Liquids:Water, Juice, Milk • Solids:Table,Humans,Flag • Gases:Air,Oxygen,Helium

  3. What is Matter • Matter can Be A Solid, Liquid, or Gas. Matter is Almost Anything. It isn't light or heat. Matter is anything that takes up space. • Solids: Anything that has a shape • Liquids: Anything that takes the shape of it's container • Gases: Anything that has no definite shape

  4. What is Matter • All types of matter can be measured, all solid, liquids, and gases. You can measure solids with a tape measurer, ruler, or meter/yard stick. You can measure liquids with a graduated cylinder. You can measure gases by weight. You can measure the bottle under the grill. That is filled with gas. But those are a few ways to measure matter.

  5. Properties Of Matter You all know that there are solids, liquids, and gases. But what are the properties of the solids, liquids, and gases? A few properties of matter are: Shape,Color,Texture,Size

  6. Mixtures & Solutions/Chemical and Physical Change • Mixtures & Solutions are just like Chemical & Physical Changes. Mixtures & Physical Changes are 2 or more items mixed together but can be taken apart again. Solutions & Chemical Changes are 2 or more items mixed together but can't be taken apart. • Examples: • Physical & Mixtures:Salad • Chemical & Solutions:Flavored Water
