  6. Step 1 Explore the Honors Program Guide Choose 1 of its 10 Themes Keep reflective journals, minutes or notes at each step Develop objectives

  7. Step 2 Choose 1 or More Questionsfor Exploration • Use the questions in the Honors Program Guide as a focus for research OR • Create your own study questions based on the Theme

  8. Step 3 Research the Theme • Use at least 8-10 good-quality academic resources that highlight various ideas, perspectives and ways to approach the Theme • Academic or professional journal articles • Books by academic/ professional experts • Interviews with experts

  9. Step 4 Develop Objectives • After researching, develop conclusions regarding the Theme • Goals should result from research conclusions • What can the chapter do to address a need at the college or in the community?

  10. Step 5 Develop Project Plan and Objectives that Include the Following Elements: • The process that will be used for meeting objectives • Leadership roles of chapter members and chapter as a team in meeting objectives • Groups with which chapter will collaborate

  11. More Step 5 • Leadership development actions/events for training specifically related to the action component • The action component that addresses a need at the college or in the community

  12. Step 6 Carry Out the Plan • Evaluate regularly and make adjustments as necessary • Assess the results • Consider future possibilities
