Working Groups • The standards activities and projects are undertaken by working groups • WG1 – Vocabulary • Development of harmonized biometric vocabulary • WG2 – Interfaces • Standardization of interfaces and interactions between biometric components and sub-systems, including security mechanisms • WG3 – Data Formats • Standardization of the content, meaning and representation of biometric interchange formats • WG4 – Profiles • Standardization of biometric base standards to application profiles • WG5 – Testing • Standardization of biometric performance metric definitions and calculations, approaches to test performance and requirements for reporting. • WG6 – Societal • Study and standardization of technical solutions to societal aspects of biometric implementations

Interfaces ISO/IEC JTC1/SC37 24709 Conformance Testing for BioAPI ISO/IEC JTC1/SC37 19784 BioAPI • Multi-part standard to standardize the Biometric application programming interface allowing the communication and utilization of services of one or more biometric technologies. • Multi-part standard to standardize the conformance testing of BioAPI, covering: methods and procedures, test assertions for - biometric service providers, BioAPI frameworks, and biometric applications. ISO/IEC JTC1/SC37 19785 CBEFF • Multi-part standard to standardize Common Biometric Exchange Formats Framework, covering: data element specification, procedures for the operation of the Biometric Registration Authority, patron format specifications, and security block format specifications.
