  1. Release the worshippers

  2. 15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.Eph 5:15-20 (NLT)

  3. 16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Col 3:16-17 (NLT)

  4. 22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas. Then the officials tore the clothes off Paul and Silas and ordered {the guards} to beat them with sticks. 23 After they had hit Paul and Silas many times, they threw them in jail and ordered the jailer to keep them under tight security. 24 So the jailer followed these orders and put Paul and Silas into solitary confinement with their feet in leg irons. 25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God. The other prisoners were listening to them.26 Suddenly, a violent earthquake shook the foundations of the jail. All the doors immediately flew open, and all the prisoners' chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up and saw the prison doors open. Thinking the prisoners had escaped, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself. 28 But Paul shouted as loudly as he could, “Don't hurt yourself! We're all here!” 29 The jailer asked for torches and rushed into the jail. He was trembling as he knelt in front of Paul and Silas. 30 Then he took Paul and Silas outside and asked, “Sirs, what do I have to do to be saved?” 31 They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you and your family will be saved.” 32 They spoke the Lord's word to the jailer and everyone in his home. Acts 16:22-32 (GW)

  5. The Holy Spirit is a Singing Spirit • He sings and plays through His people.

  6. Worship is an expression of the Fullness of God • 37 On the last day, of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!38Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”39 (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.) John 7:37-39 (NLT)

  7. The Father is not seeking worship music but worshipping people. • You are a worshipper!

  8. Worshippers are Thankful Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thess 5:18 (NLT)

  9. Presence Priority • 16 But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. Psalms 59:16 (NLT) • 15 Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name Heb 13:15 (NLT)

  10. Worshippers are Contagious • 21At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit…..Luke 10:21 (NASB)

  11. Worshippers are contagious • 12 Now it was told King David, saying, "The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God." So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness. 13 And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep. 14 Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet. 2 Sam 6:12-15 (NKJV)

  12. Worshippers are Contagious • 20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, "How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!" 21 So David said to Michal, "It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord. 22And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. 2 Sam 6:20-22 (NKJV)

  13. Worshippers are Thankful • 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thess 5:18 (NLT) • 22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts. Psalms 107:22 (NLT)

  14. God loves the New Song • He has put a new song in my mouth-- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord. Psalms 40:3 (NKJV) • 3 Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. Psalms 22:3 (NLT)

  15. Worship changes us, not God. • He is the same, yesterday, today and forever

  16. Give a shout! •  Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!2 Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy.3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.5 For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. Psalms 100:1-5 (NLT)

  17. It’s a two way street! • 17 For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zeph 3:17 (NLT)
