TheArmorofGodPt. 6: “The Sword of the Spirit” • The Sword of the Spirit? • Paul is not suggesting that the Spirit is the giver of the Sword, for he knows that God the Father is the one who has given this weapon to the Church. • 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

TheArmorofGodPt. 6: “The Sword of the Spirit” • Revelation 19:13-16, “13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15  From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “ KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

TheArmorofGodPt. 6: “The Sword of the Spirit” • Just as Jesus, who was anointed by the Spirit of God, spoke the Word and slew His enemies, we too, equipped with the Word of God, and anointed by the Spirit, are able to strike down anything that comes against us. • All we have to yield the sword of the Spirit against the enemy is to speak the Word of God.

So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’” • 7 Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘ You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
