  1. Tier 3 Protocol For Tier 3 TutorsRti District TrainingFall 2009 McKinney ISD Special Populations Department Dr. Laura W. Simmons, Special Population Coordinator

  2. Purpose of Training • For the 2009-2010 school year, for all Tier 3 tutoring funded by the special population department, campus will compy to the 2009-2010 Intervention, Tutoring, and PGM Protocol Guidelines.

  3. Tier 3 Intervention, Tutoring, and PGM Protocol Guidelines • Campuses will utilize the McKinney ISD RTI Tier 3 Protocolfor all Tier 3 students. • Campuses Tier 3 tutors will utilize district-approved Tier 3 Deep Intervention Plans to document evidence of DIP and PGM.

  4. Let’s Review The Tier 3 Protocol… • This applies to both which interventions should be implemented along with accompanying PGM. • Should campuses choose other interventions not listed on this guide, then the campus Rti Coordinator in collaboration with the campus administrator will submit the McKinney ISD Evaluation of Proposed TIER 3 Program/Product/Methodology form for consideration.

  5. Additionally, Campus Will Agree to… • Use highly trained professionals, including para-educators, to deliver instruction and provide intervention, based on the McKinney ISD Rti Tier 3 Protocol.

  6. Furthermore… • All campus Tier 3 tutors and at least one campus administrator will be required to attend a brief training prior at the beginning of the school year prior to engaging in Tier 3 tutoring with students.

  7. Additionally, RTI Tier 3 Tutors Will Agree to: • Provide at least 30 minutes, 3 times a week during or outside of the school day systematic and explicit instruction per the McKinney ISD recommended Rti Tier 3 resources and progress monitoring guide. • Small group instruction with no more than 3 students. • Instruction should be in addition to core curriculum, not in place of. • Administer district-approved probes during each tutoring session starting with administration of survey-level assessments when appropriate. • Maintain a detailed Tier 3 log regarding interventions provided and progress monitoring probes administered.

  8. Other Tutoring Documentation • Signature of review of Extra Duty Pay Policy. • Completed invoice submitted to campus Rti coordinator on a weekly basis.
